Volunteers working

Through work we can learn to use our energy wisely so that all of our actions are fruitful and rich.

Skillful Means

Tibetan Book Project Resident Volunteer Program

Maybe you’ve never seriously considered volunteering because you didn’t think you could support yourself and do others a service at the same time. The purpose of our program is to offer volunteers a unique solution to this problem. Because we value the work that our volunteers do, we provide housing, meals, evening classes, and the opportunity to experience life within a spiritual community. Most volunteers are also eligible for a living allowance of $150 per month.

The work of the Tibetan Book Project takes place in our on-site bindery at Ratna Ling Retreat Center in coastal Redwood hills of western Sonoma County. Volunteers live at Ratna Ling or at our sister country center, Odiyan, just a few miles up the road.

The integration of work, classes on various aspects of Buddhism and the practices of Skillful Means create a dynamic environment for the development of our potential.
