Through work we can learn to use our energy wisely so that all of our actions are fruitful and rich.
Skillful Means
Welcome to the Yeshe De volunteer pages! We hope that you find all the information you need to decide if volunteering for the Yeshe De project is right for you.
Maybe you’ve never seriously considered volunteering because you didn’t think you could support yourself and do others a service at the same time. The purpose of our work exchange program is to offer volunteers a unique solution to this problem. Because we value the work that our volunteers do, we provide housing, meals, evening classes, and the opportunity to experience life within a spiritual community. All volunteers are also eligible for a living allowance of $150 per month.

Our organization has been supporting volunteer programs for individuals interested in Buddhism and Tibetan culture for over 30 years. The Yeshe De project was founded in 1983 and began its work in Berkeley, CA with volunteers living at the Nyingma Institute. The project moved in 2007 to our country center, Ratna Ling, where the project’s volunteers have been living and working ever since.
We invite you to contact us if you have any questions or would like further information about the Yeshe De project or our Volunteer Work Exchange program.
