Resident Volunteer Program

Yeshe De is a non-profit entirely volunteer operation. All staff members have made a commitment to this work and donate their services as a spiritual practice. In 2005 volunteers will be preparing over 500,000 Tibetan books for distribution at the 2006 World Peace Ceremony. All our books are given free of charge. The work includes collating, cutting, edge dying, assembling and wrapping books in the traditional Tibetan style.

The work of Yeshe De takes place at our facilities in Berkeley and at Ratna Ling, our new rural center in Sonoma County. In Berkeley, housing and vegetarian meals are provided at the Nyingma Institute. At Ratna Ling, Resident Volunteers live and work on site. Both centers provide a variety of opportunities for practice and study.

This program is designed for individuals who have an interest in Buddhist studies and meditation and the application of Buddhist practice in the work environment. A six- month commitment is required, and there is a two-week trial period.
